I have found through ministry a curious contradiction. Evildoers frequently rely on other evidoers: for instance, crooked lawyers, devious accountants, wicked hirelings, and so on. And curiously, they rely on these people with believing hearts as if they had their own best evildoing interests at heart and wouldn't fail them or stab them in the back on a whim. But they do. The Bible talks about "trusting in the staff of a broken reed" (Isaiah 36:6).
