In both of my major ministries, we had the problem -- not unenviable -- of needing larger collection plates. The old style collection plates are typically just that -- they are like dinner plates. But as collections increased, monies started sliding off the plates. In both Churches, we discussed various possible solutions: collection bags, a collection box, and so on. In both Churches, we decided to ask a turner to produce deep wooden collection bowls. OBSERVATION: As best I know, those collection bowls, in both Churches, remain in use today as a testimony to what happened with collections under my ministries.
