Planning Time

A minister shared with me how he entered events in his diary without setting aside time for actually preparing for them. His supervisor asked him: "Do you think you will prepare in your sleep?" In other words, one needs to take account both of a planned event, and of one's preparation for the event. But there is more to it than this. One needs to take account of emotional expenditure, which in ministry may be high. One can't just keep going without emotional recovery. Also, one needs to take unplanned events into account, which encroach on the planned ones. OBSERVATION: What then does this do to the notion of "nine till five"?
