Sometimes I photograph things I don't notice -- until I look at my photographs afterwards. One such photo "went viral" with many thousands of views. Last week I took a photo of riot police, which I only paid attention to afterwards: an officer restraining another officer who has his eye on my camera. In the welter of the moment, I never noticed. With respect for these officers, I won't put it here.
OBSERVATION: Journalists are allowed to photograph police -- it is a standing order of the police.
Citizen journalists are another question -- the position is unclear. And would I be considered a journalist by virtue of my being an editor? My photo suggests caution.
