Throughout my ministr(ies), I have found that saving grace is one of the most difficult things for people to comprehend. It is a continual sticking point. However, grace is not systematically taught in Churches. Sometimes, too, the impression is given that it is obtained automatically, which is not the case. Perhaps the clearest Biblical statements are in the context of circumcision. Here is a commentary: "If circumcision is necessary for salvation, Christ is of no use. Salvation has nothing to do with circumcision." Now remove the word "circumcision" and insert any kind of action or virtue. This brings clarity.
