I took this photo a few months ago. Young sportswomen are carrying the coffin of a teammate – from a funeral service in the home, to a public funeral service – which in this case was a very large service. After that, the coffin was taken to the grave, and a service held at the graveside. Usually there are these three services in South Africa. In this case, there was also a service in the school, the day before. OBSERVATION: In the background, one sees typical government RDP (Reconstruction and Development Programme) housing. Again, one may notice that children are included in a funeral procession.
