Yesterday I blogged about an unusual Church fund-raising plan (donors' names were impressed on the bricks). A plan that I was personally involved in, which proved to be successful, was an invitation to members for interest-free loans, to build a Church. I am surprised that I have not heard about another such plan before or since. We raised a very large sum of money -- I forget just how much -- and once the Church was up, many members did not want their loans back. Within the shortest of time, we had a Church, and we were debt free -- although the interest free loans were just one (big) part of the overall plan.
