The BBC has pointed out that the death toll in mass killings in the USA has greatly increased during the past decade. Many people are looking for "causes beyond causes" (say, beyond firearms regulation), although I don't see any consensus taking shape. I wrote an article on possible causes once, which was published by John Mark Ministries. The article was removed by hackers -- as were other articles with it. Having personal experience of the USA, I felt that the phenomenon might be about a suppressive culture. More specifically, the suppression of thought in indirect ways. This may be deeply felt by someone coming in from the outside -- and for those on the inside, such "suppression" could have to do with the explosive situation there is. The fact that educational institutions are often involved may support such a view.
