This week, one of our universities erupted again in anarchy. I knew it was coming, although I didn't know the details. Having a little inside knowledge of the situation, this is how I see it:
• Families are truly suffering through the burden of putting their children through university, if they can even fund the first year.OBSERVATION: Personally I think the students' issues are well founded. However they are not seeing or using promising tactics, and are running too low on hope.
• Free education, or uncommodified education as the students put it, is certainly doable in our country.
• The universities make modest concessions, but use bobbing and blocking tactics. Students have seen through this.
• Philosophy plays into it. There is a doctrine that there must be death before resurrection. The system must die.
