Subtext Of Death

The BBC yesterday put up a short movie titled What Do People Say Before They Die? Having been at well over 100 deathbeds, I was puzzled by this movie. They portray death as by and large a peaceful and beautiful thing. Yes one does find this at a deathbed, sometimes, and it is good to know that there can be a "good death". But the movie surely is tendentious, or it reflects an isolated situation. Death may involve dreadful suffering, a "life and death" struggle, and quiet terror. OBSERVATION: I have of course ministered in Africa -- however Africa will surely be more representative of death than the UK. With regard to the BBC movie, I would say read the subtext.
