Inventing Things

One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to inventing is that everything has been thought of, and only the rare genius will discover something new. While some ideas have been done to death -- like the chair or the door handle -- I would see that there are grand new ideas almost anywhere one looks. Moreover, one will find them not only in simple things, but in areas of intense research and development. I myself have sold the copyrights to more than 100 ideas, and made original contributions in five academic fields, receiving various prizes for ingenuity and innovation. Pick up the thing that is closest to you. You can probably revolutionise it. And it is not only physical objects that one may revolutionise, but concepts of all kinds.
