It has been my tradition to begin every "government" meeting of the Church with devotions. Often the theme is Christian leadership or the nature of the Church. Here's an example, to give some flesh to the bones. On one occasion I looked briefly at Acts 11. Here Peter was hauled over the coals. To quote a commentator, he was guilty of an “undoubted breach of Jewish law and custom,” and had “stained his apostleship”. Yet sixteen verses further on, his critics praised God for what had occurred. I noted in our meeting that things turned around in this passage because the Church no longer focused on Peter’s behaviour, or on past traditions, but their focus shifted to what God was doing. OBSERVATION: And this dynamic is, I think, crucial to averting many difficulties in the Church.
