Devotions Or Else?

I once addressed our Women’s Association -- then my late wife Mirjam led discussion of the year’s programme. This included discussion of the group’s regular devotions. Mirjam said cheerily: “So, who offers to do devotions? I mean, you don’t have a choice! Who offers to do devotions first?” Several women offered then and there. OBSERVATION: I joked that it was "the priesthood of all conscripts". However, this gives a glimpse into why the Women's Association was booming. Spiritual content was a priority.
