Ordeal's End

Three men, earlier this year, took me with semi-automatics. I had a gun to my back and a gun to my side for an hour and a half. This is how the ordeal ended. They would abandon me at a field in my car, they said, and walk. They did, and they walked. Two of them kept walking -- but one of them stopped to keep watch, agitated. He walked up and down, then he began to walk in and out of sight. He became less agitated. He walked out of sight for longer periods of time -- perhaps several seconds at a time, but they seemed predictable seconds. I clicked open the car door, and held it there. He reappeared. He walked out of sight again. I got out and got down low, next to the car. He reappeared -- and out of sight again. I scrambled for a wall. I was now out of sight -- but it was a long wall. OBSERVATION: I do not know where this was, although I would recognise it.
