Skarðaborg

While my mother was born in (now) Szczecin in Poland, my surname is pure Viking. My father was born nearly 50 miles from Scarborough, while I was born some 90 miles from there. The town was reportedly founded around 966 AD as Skarðaborg by Thorgils Skarthi, a Viking raider. A scar is a cliff, while a borough is a town. As one sees in this old image, Scarborough Castle is built above a cliff. OBSERVATION: I have not yet got round to my land claim (it was unfair that the British seized what we Vikings so valiantly won in battle).
