In the absence of anything better to post in this moment, I took the photo this morning of some re-tarring underway in a wealthy Cape Town suburb. It is a curious fact of South Africa that, less than half an hour away from here, there are public roads which are un-negotiable for some vehicles, while roads in this area are re-worked when one wouldn't have guessed that there was anything wrong with them. OBSERVATION: The most curious example on this blog is the re-tarring of the entry and exit boulevards to a village Church, while ten minutes away the roads are an off-roader's dream.
