I thank God for a ministry, in the city, which spanned a heyday of the Church. Having said this, an unfortunate rumour reached me this past week. In a written agreement -- so it went -- I had severed all ties and all contact with my old Church. A few days ago, I put the details on this blog -- but here it is more simply, so that all may understand:
• The agreement referred to was abandoned. It had no date, no witnesses, it was not ratified, and it was not fulfilled. On top of that, it was condemned by the Human Rights Commission. It bore one signature of the Church: the treasurer's.
• I have the papers, too, which prove my continuing attachment with the Church, as a minister -- and I have faithfully and quietly kept up my membership obligations, and have been received with joy -- but some exceptions.
See also The Minister Severed Ties. These rumours arose -- or were revived -- at the same time as I highlighted the removal of safety features from the finances.
