A minister may be worth ten evangelists in the congregation. Many do not realise this. This is because people expect a minister to evangelise, while they may be taken aback when it comes from others -- therefore there is an open door. Also, a minister continually meets people at crisis points in their lives, while others seldom do -- and crisis points, too, are an open door. OBSERVATION: I myself have been in my element when doing evangelism as a minister, but do not enjoy "cold calling". Especially in pastoral counselling, evangelism is the most natural thing to do: the no. 1 diagnostic question is how it is with a person's relationship with God.
