Popular As Death

Yesterday I posted the hottest post I have ever posted -- on death. It received 63 impressions on Twitter in its first minute. It was on a chapter in my metaphysic (or total philosophy). The philosophical debate about death is most basically defined by whether our present life is related to an afterlife, or not. If it is related to an afterlife, what is it that continues from this life into the next? If it is not related to an afterlife, what does the absence of such a relation imply? This is my own diagram, on the right, showing various philosophical possibilities. There may simply be a termination of life (top). There may be (kind of) a continuation of life (the last two on the list). Or (in the middle) various things will continue (and matter) from this life into the next.
