Young People In Church

During my ministr(ies), there were major shifts in ages in my congregations. This post is about the reason why, as it may be helpful. The graphs on the right show a period which I needed to study for a postgraduate assignment. It shows major growth in the age-groups 0-35 (red, yellow, green). How did this happen? I put the change down to the "priesthood of believers" above all, or ministry by members. OBSERVATION: I was a lot older than 0-35 at the end of this period -- which is encouraging. A younger congregation does not need a younger minister to thrive. One thing one doesn't see in the graphs, however, is wider demographics -- which would be needed for a fuller picture.

POSTSCRIPT: I do not think, though, that a younger Church is as desirable as as a balanced Church. There needs to be a balance of ages, both in human years and in spiritual years.
