God Knows

There is another side to the belief that God knows what He is doing in the Church. It has to mean that the minister is doing things that he or she doesn't know, but God does. This has been an implicit belief for me in ministry, and it is for many ministers. This is not to say: "I am the oracle of God," but: "God ordained me to accomplish something through me, as undeserving as I am and as we all are, and I may not know what it is." OBSERVATION: I think it is an important belief, and it is not one that lies in a theological twilight zone. I would surely have despaired without it -- or one would need to replace it with something inadequate or unsatisfactory such as organisational development chaos theory -- or one would need to be unthinking, perhaps.
