In a Master's thesis, I discovered that ministers were wasting precious ministry time dealing with conflict. Strategic issues placed “enormous pressure” on them (Blackaby and Blackaby), and most “spend the majority of their time and energy dealing with conflict” (Clinton). This was directly linked with “people influencing people”. Renounce influence, I said, and free up time for ministry. OBSERVATION: I am privileged to have had about 95% of my time for ministry -- which is not to say that there has been no conflict. There were two serious episodes in 30+ years.
