Last week I received word from my PhD editor that my magnum opus (340 pages) was of a high standard and ready to present to a publisher. It is the second time he edited my work. This is not to say that he didn't send me a raft of suggestions. Having now gone over these suggestions cursorily, they are different to the first time round. The first time, he presented me with what looked like -- but I solved them -- real problems. This time round -- from my own perspective -- he presented me with the need for clarification. Some clarifications should be easy -- others span swathes of my work, and will require an integrated response. I want to fix all this before I approach a publisher.
