Ready For Ministry?

My nephew is at theological seminary. I asked him whether things had changed since my time -- insofar as we were not taught how to deal with important aspects of real ministry. He said it is by and large the same as it was in my time. Here are some examples of situations that students could be trained in but often are not:
• Serious injury and death
• Uncontrollable situations
• Major proposals
• Malicious opposition
• Danger and threat
There are many items besides, but this will give an idea. What to say? What to do? Ideally, I think, seminaries would give students role-plays of such situations. There is also great value in observing other ministers at work in such situations, but not all candidates for the ministry have this privilege. OBSERVATION: I started this blog partly with the purpose of giving students a window into some of the situations they are likely to face.
