There are many children's accidents that a minister encounters. I shall mention three which did not have a disastrous ending. One was a girl who did a head-over-heels on a couch at home. Her arm fell between the cushions as she went over, and she snapped it. Next thing, a social worker was standing at the door. Another girl was rocking to and fro on the back of a couch, lost her balance and went over backwards, hitting a huge glass window. It came down like a guillotine. She was slightly hurt. The doctor said she could have been dead. And a boy was at a barbecue or braai, when someone opened a gate to the neighbours' property, and a Rottweiler bounded through and mauled him. He needed more than sixty stitches in his face.
