In the past week I have helped two people with theses -- one at graduate level, and one at doctoral level. So as not to tamper with their own work, I insert comments in-line. Both of these theses have trouble with the concepts which ground them. One of them -- the subject of this post -- is about transfer growth between Churches -- specific Churches -- focusing on the statistical losses of one to the advantage of the other. I ask, why is this so important? There is something driving you to write about losses and gains. If you can find out what that is, you should have more useful results, beyond what is causing the transfer.
