God's Guiding Hand

This is one of the last photos of son M and his wife L before they emigrated to Switzerland. It all began more than thirty years ago, when I married a Swiss wife. People often ask me about them. They struggled on arrival, but made it through. It looks now, three months later, that they are finding their feet -- with L finding a career in computational linguistics (son M still correcting his doctorate). L writes:
"To me, it feels like God's guiding hand was there from years ago without my noticing it. It's so strange, but at the same time so obvious."
