Under one of my ministries, we introduced 24 hours of prayer, once a year. The 24th hour was a time of communal prayer. This post is about the unity of such prayer. In our second year, in our time of communal prayer, a member walked in, sat down on my right, and put down her sunglasses and purse on the table in front of me. I saw “Chanel” embossed on the sunglasses, and the purse was made of crocodile leather. Directly opposite her, a woman sat down, dressed only in a traditional Xhosa shawl. It seemed the perfect picture of “unity of the faith”. OBSERVATION: We handed out a sheet of suggested prayers before the 24 hours of prayer, so that the prayers tended to be united, too.
