Popular Metaphysics

I have written a metaphysic. A philosophy author wrote to me: "Publishers don't publish metaphysics. Bookstores don't stock it." This is quite true -- if one is speaking of living metaphysicians. But the number of editions that dead metaphysicians have on the shelves today is phenomenal. According to Goodreads, looking at just four metaphysics, there are 268 editions of Aristotle, 293 editions of Descartes, 62 editions of Kant, and 178 editions of Schopenhauer, most of them current. This is truly astonishing. Metaphysics is still very much alive, even if the authors aren’t.
