Language Teacher

In the 1960s, a teacher on Beru atoll in the Pacific taught my mother to speak Gilbertese, or I-Kiribati. He taught her very fast, for practical purposes. My mother turned 84 this week, and he himself must be very old. Recently he appeared on Facebook (pictured), and we reconnected. He now lives on Tarawa atoll.
