Consulent Minister

My official designation at the moment is Consulent Minister. Many have asked me what this means. It is indeed a rare term -- used in the Congregational Church. According to the European dictionary WordSense, a consulent "looks after the interests of, takes care of (someone)". It is to give guidance and direction in the first place. OBSERVATION: I have been appointed three times as Consulent Minister: in the past, in Zwelitsha and Kwazakhele, and now in Ladismith -- the first two in the Eastern Cape, and the last in the Western Cape. In Zwelitsha and Kwazakhele, I was in charge of Probationers -- in some Churches called Curates.
