‘Don't Ever Do That Again’

With an attack on a minister in Virginia yesterday, I was reminded of an interruption to a service in my Church. It was a special service, and I was seated in the congregation. A man with a cigarette behind his ear walked to the front, held a hand in the air, and took over the service. In front of a full Church, I walked to the front, and engaged him in conversation. "Hey, it's great to have you here. What's your name? Can we do this later?" He was completely distracted, and left. A deaconess came to me after the service and reprimanded me: “That was dangerous! That man was high! Don’t ever do that again!” OBSERVATION: In a diaconate meeting which followed, the diaconate appointed "first responders" for such cases.
