Russell and Bradley

It's a philosophical post, this. For the first time, this afternoon, I read (in full) Bertrand Russell’s book Our Knowledge of the External World. Interesting is that his opening move is very similar to mine -- namely, to point out the contradictions of the philosophers from the beginning: "... ever since Thales was contradicted by Anaximander." Interesting is that he immediately refutes Francis H. Bradley, but without making his case: "I do not propose to examine this argument in detail ... Most people will admit, I think, that it is calculated to produce bewilderment ..." I think that was a capital mistake. What follows, then, is a book which is a missed opportunity for Russell, and fairly much the antithesis of mine.
