Still a Child

After the wedding, when I married wife E, an elderly aunt ripped a large branch from a tree. She handed it to a youngster. She ripped off another branch for herself. They began to spar in front of us—the youngster from time to time feigning defeat. Then the aunt turned to E, stabbing at her with the branch, within centimetres of her face, shouting, shouting, shouting. This continued all the way to the reception. It was symbolic. She was telling E that she may be a married woman now, but she should not let it go to her head. She was still a child. She should respect the elders.
