One of the challenges of writing a metaphysic (a panoramic philosophy) is the technicalities. One could easily become ensnared in thousands of them. The potential to get stuck is great. Here is an example of how I reasonably (I hope) extricate myself from these hazards: "There is nothing, it seems, more basic than the word. Morphemes, perhaps, but that does not help us further." OBSERVATION: Here, I do multiple things at once: I get to the heart of the matter, show some grasp of linguistics, make some reference to history, tie it in to my metaphysic, and miove on ... If something becomes more challenging still, I may add an endnote.
