NPO Act §18.2

Before the year is through, I am filing a formal complaint against the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA), for contravening the NPO Act §18.2. Instead of handling a complaint -- a significant one -- in terms of simple procedure laid out in their constitution, I was met with continual resistance, diversion, or silence, even accusation. But imagine, too, the good that is done where a complaint is well handled. OBSERVATION: The UPCSA's own public values are love, holiness, Scripture, integrity, growth, and service. It is interesting, in the long history of the Church, that where there were intractable standoffs, these were frequently resolved through authorities.

POSTSCRIPT: It is about the UPCSA's checks and balances, and the system is out of order at a high level. This suggests that the complaint is not a small one. Worldwide, it is now accepted that it is crucial for the Church to have good checks and balances, and that these should be in good working order.
