Invention 31: Personal Deepfake Advertising
Deepfake advertising is known to many today, but the people who are deepfaked are celebrities. For example, David Beckham. Now the purpose of an advertisement is to catch one's attention. It is already plain to all that one is personally targeted with ads these days. Imagine, therefore, that one were to deepfake the person who is targeted, or someone or something closely familiar to them. In crude form, this idea might well be banned before it happens (say, you see your own face in an advertisement). However, deepfake advertising could use resemblances which get around that. Not that I am recommending this. You read it first on this blog.
