Lenovo 300e and Linux

My Acer netbook computer, alas, was nearing its end. I replaced it today with a Lenovo 300e Windows 2nd Gen. But would it run Linux? That was the question. When I bought my Acer, the first thing I did was delete Windows. But that left me with a tabula rasa, and a bit of a nighmare. Therefore I sought now to get Linux up and running without touching Windows.  This was not much of a problem, although I have not been able to access the Windows SSD -- yet. Here is my desktop -- all of it.

POSTSCRIPT: I succeeded in installing a version of Debian. It is fast and flawless. However, Windows would not go gentle into that good night.
