I was interested to see what faculty members of theological seminaries or departments had to write about the (I think) biggest turmoil since the Soweto Uprising of 1976. Post by post: Nothing. Nothing. Jogging. Canoeing. Distance learning. Miscellaneous quotes. The most direct, personal engagement with events, that I saw, was a call to prayer.
OBSERVATION: This is quite striking, for people who are thought to be in the vanguard of Christian thinking.
POSTSCRIPT: Two days prior to this post, the South African Council of Churches issued a statement:
SACC Appeals for Calm.
