Aia Karaki

After a long pause, I recovered 16 more pages of May Pateman's Aia Karaki nikawai I-Tungaru, to put them on Facebook. I used a method called Color to Gray, which seems best for restoring pages which are in very bad condition (this is the cover, pictured). It is a Pacific history, covering ancient times to the early 1900s. As best I know, no copy remains in the country where the language is spoken, which is Tungaru, or Kiribati. OBSERVATION: This book pre-dates many colonial records, and diverges in places from oral traditions. It has brought both joy and distress.
