Pillow Slip

The last time my mother laid her head on her pillow before she died, she used this pillow slip. I took the photo after the undertakers had taken her body from her bed. It was made in the 1960s -- stitched by hand -- in the characteristic style of the Gilbert Islands, where my parents were missionaries of the LMS. "Dorothea S." is her name. "Temeeti" is the name of our provider and my guardian. I do not know who "Maire" is, but I am sure to find out.
