I argue in my book that history repeats itself. For this, I do not rely merely on the proverb, but I describe how thought processes survive through generations. In Russia, internal exile has been both common and enduring: the Tsar, Lenin, Trotsky, Khrushchev, Gorbachev, and many lesser lights besides. On this basis, I think it is likely that the same will happen with Putin.
