When I visit different parts of South Africa, I like to hear "what's going down". In the Koukamma district, farmers just had a huge problem when dogs from a nearby town started to hunt in packs. They killed any number of sheep. These packs were big. Farmers got hold of a sharpshooter, who lay down in the veld, and shot 10, 20, and on one occasion more than 30 dogs at once. They sent the bill for the sheep to the townsfolk. I didn't hear the result of that. OBSERVATION: Dogs in South Africa often roam free. The Western idea, to keep them on one's property, is often thought to be cruel.
