Fulfilling a Purpose (Not)

I ordered an inverter from the UK. The new inverter made it swiftly from the UK to Cape Town -- but in Cape Town things went horribly wrong. So horribly wrong, that the UK manufacturer gave me the inverter free, as a "goodwill gesture". The problem was a local company, that was supposed to arrange delivery in such a way that delivery actually ... happened. OBSERVATION: I soon discovered that my experience was not an isolated one. The company gets ★ on Google, and out of sixteen ratings, not one of them is higher than ★. Why anyone would still use this company is a mystery to me. It can't be because it fulfills its given purpose. It is something else -- surely ideology of some sort.
