Daughter's Death

Ministers often deal with death. Here is an example. Early one morning, an elderly mother's daughter collapsed and died. I arrived to find them both in bed, with police milling around uneasily at the far side of the room. The mother said I shouldn't wait around, I should go. I said: "Let me see that you're all right when the mortician comes." She smiled and said: "I'll be all right, Reverend. God is with me." But I checked on her that night. OBSERVATION: This was at first treated as a possible crime scene, since the daughter was bruised through her collapse, and her body had been moved.
