For the first time today, I saw a request for authorisation of my maternal grandfather's marriage -- addressed to the Prussian Minister of Justice in Berlin. My mother was born a year later.
OBSERVATION: It seems to me to be unusual in a number of respects. Among other things, it contains ideology of the Reich, two years into Hitler's rule. South Africans might be interested that it took just six days for the Minister to approve the marriage.
