Dying of a Broken Heart

Is it possible to die of a broken heart? From my experience of ministry, yes. Especially if one loses a husband or wife -- also if one loses one's function in life. I may have heard of an example this week. A woman lost her husband, she didn't want to go on, and she died of natural causes. The first that I knew of such situations was when an old man in my Church lost his wife. He lost his strength, they admitted him to hospital, and soon he died. The doctors said they could find no physical reason adequate to explain his death. OBSERVATION: It is well established that life expectancy is reduced through losing a partner. I am talking about rapid decline after a major shock.
