Peril of Counselling

I again stumbled upon an article today -- but there are many like it -- of the dangers of counselling: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK64902/ The dangers are very real -- particularly where a counselee develops feelings of attraction or repulsion towards the counsellor. In some cases, these feelings may be extreme -- with extreme consequences. But ministers counsel anyway, and trust God to protect them. They expose themselves to harm, for the sake of being a help. They should, however, understand the peril of doing so. Ideally, congregations would understand, too. OBSERVATION: Counselees have "turned" with me, too. In my experience, in maybe 2% of cases. By far the majority of counselees are deeply thankful.
