Medical Scheme Tricks

The people who administer medical schemes are benevolent folks, always interested in the health and happiness of their clients. Well, actually not. They may often pull out all the stops -- malicious ones, too -- to make money out of their clients. Or they give some method a shot -- and quickly draw back if they realise that their patient might catch on. Ministers, such as myself, have some in-depth experience of what goes on. So it is interesting to see an exposé in the German tabloid Bild today, as to what the "vicious" ("fies" in German) tricks are that medical schemes employ. OBSERVATION: In South Africa, I think we are far less aware than Europeans as to what goes on. We really should have a list of known tricks, to compare with our experience.
