years ago, just before I stepped into the pulpit one morning, a deaconess handed me a letter. It was from a young mother, whose infant we had been praying for. It began: "When it took seven hours to operate on Candice [her infant], I was so frightened. But then I remembered Sea Point Congregational Church members were praying for Candice."
